The designer Mirree's paintings draws her inspiration from her Aboriginal heritage. Raised in the Central West of NSW region, her paintings reflect her spiritual connection with the Central West of NSW in Wiradjuri country.

Snake-Head Turtle is a small turtle that resides in Wiradjuri Country where she lives, you usually see them crossing the road a lot as they travel from swamp to swamp to gather fresh water and food supplies. A lot unfortunately do not survive due to this. Fortunately I have seen one in it's natural habitat swimming around, this painting captures that memory and movement in it's habitat swimming in the water freely. 
Although Mirree has used flowers such as the lotus before in her paintings previously, such as Brolga, the lotuses in the water animal paintings represents universal connection and unity. The Lotus Flower is a native flower belonging to Australia and is most often seen in country in the colours of Pink, White or Yellow.
