'Australian White-Faced Heron ~ Contemplation

White-Faced Heron can be mostly found throughout most parts of Australia, New Zealand, Torres Strait, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Its presence is very gentle and elegant which sometimes can be mistaken as other types of Herons or Cranes.
Their method of feeding involves standing motionless in shallow waters to stalk their prey, such as frogs, fish, insects and small reptiles.
A rather large yet powerful bird which stands up to 70cm in height, which has a spear-like bill with long legs and a long retractable neck, which is a characteristic of Herons.
They fly with their necks retracted back in a slow, steady flight if disturbed leaving suddenly.
